Debate Results!

For those who didn't have the possibility to see our game - Negative wins! Affirmatives are a bit sad. It seemed so easy to prove that it is really impossible to find real freinds on-line, but Negatives were more convinsing (the Judges said so).

Vikki promissed to explaine all the mistakes during the game we did.

We are waiting now for the city tournament! But we don't know which topic we are going to work out. Vikki said that we'll know it one month before the game. It will be in march. Than we'll continue blogging.

Final step. Meeting 16.

Today was the last meeting. Vikki checked our speeches and how good we know all the stuff we learned. She aske us to fill the tables (last column and the middle one if necessary) - know-want to know-found out to see if we reached what we must.

Tomorrow is the game. We are nervous. Though we are one class we wonder which team will win: affirmative or negative? We'll see tomorrow. After te game we'll publish the results of our research on the topic : It is impossible to find real freinds on-line.

Getting Ready for Debates. Meeting 15.

Today we were playing demo-debates. Oh, but don't think that two groups (we call us teams now) came together and played! NO! Vikki was our opponent. In each team there are 3 people who plays his/her own role. Vikki played for 3)))).

We have ONE meeting left and after than weare playing the game))) People will come to see us. We already feel a bit nervous.

We didn't publish any news during last week, because there were no news. We were working at our speeches and making our portfolios, preparing documents with facts for our debating game. Vikki was asking us a lot of questions.

Today Vikki was checking our speeches and our questions. We were sure in our positions but how easy she can break our defence! We have more to do!

The final count down started! 5 meetings left.

Getting ready for Debates. Meeting 10.

Today we met in two groups separately. Group affirmative and group negavive. We were prapaering our debating speaches. When we'll finish we'll publish our points of view on pages affirmative and negative of our blog.

What were we doing today? Organising speeches. For the next time Vikki asked us to prepare questions for our opponents to make real debates!

We have 6 more meeting - it seems not too much!

Research. Meating 8.

Thanks to everyone who helped us in our reasearch))). Now we got a lot of useful facts, which we got not only from the Internet, but from real life, too.))))

This meeting we worked in two groups: one group analised the results of the questionary.  And another group was looking for the main definitions which we must use in our debating speaches.

Vikki devided us into 2 main groups (2 debating teams) and said that now we are going to meet separately.

Today was the last meeting of all the members of the project next time we work in groups separate.

We got the task to make a report about our research. Vikki said we will have 9 more meeting and after that we are plaing the Debates

Research. Meating 6.

Today we discussed that it is impossible to find real freinds on-line. The discussion was very hot and vivid, but all the members of group agreed that real friends on-line are not possible.

For the next meeting Vikki asked us to pepare questions for a questionary for our peers. Be ready to answer them!))

Research. Meating 5.

Today we were discussing the topic: it is possible to find real friends on-line. We were brain-storming and arguing for about 10 or 15 minutes. After that Vikki gave us some links in the inernet and for the rest 30 minutes we were reading information there and writing some kind of essey to send her via e-mail. By the way she asked us to comment her ideas on her Fb page.

Research. Meeting 4.

Today we discussed negative sides of the internet. We found a lot of them - we never thought that internet can have so many bad points.

We found that there are some dangerous things except viruses: speculators, rookers, data-hunters, perverts, some sites can containe dangerous links and so on.

Today during the meeting we filled the table: know-want to know-found out. We were divided into 2 groups and were working in groups. First one group were filling  know-want to know-found out about advatages of the Inernet and another were filling the same form about disadvantages then visa versa.

After that we compared our lists and made one table.

Vikki said that these were the easiest tasks, and now begins fun. Waiting!

Today we discussed all the good sites of internet and communication on internet. We bring a lot of imformation that we found on the internet. Some of us seem to visit the same sites.

Vikki asked us to find negative sides of using internet and communication on the internet. Does she really think internet have negative sides?

Today we gathered again Vikki said that our work is better than last time! Hurray!

Research. Meating 1

We gathered for the first time to discuss our progress and sea, if we moving right direction. So many ideas! Our teacher Vikki said that we are moving a bit away from our topic.

Today we discussed the following topics today:

Who is friend?
What qualities should  have a friend?
Who is the best friend?
How can we decided if it is a friend or not?

Introduction

Today is the start of our research work.

Our teacher introduced us the topic of our research and Debates. We held a brain-storming conference and designed the plan of our work.
